Tronix Micro Systems can service any PC, no matter what the manufacturer. Repair or replacement of defective hardware components, hardware upgrades, operating system and software issues and virus/spyware removal are routine services. I also offer general maintenance services to keep your computer running smoothly and to avert more costly repairs down the road.
A computer like any other complex machine needs regular maintenance, but too often maintenance is often overlooked by computer owners until a serious problem develops. Your computer is made up of a combination of solid state electronic components, electromechanical parts (hard drives, CD/DVD drives, cooling fans, ect…) and of course your operating system software, utilities and productivity software. Though hardware failures can occur suddenly and unexpectedly, computer service problems related to lack of maintenance of these critical components are much more common.
Here are some common clues that your computer may be in need of professional service:
Fans, Cooling and Dust
Be alert to unusual growling noises coming from your PC. Growling sounds are typically caused by cooling fan problems, usually a CPU cooling fan or power supply fan, or even a motherboard chipset fan, case fan or video card fan in systems that are equipped with such. Since computers have components that generate heat and excess heat can cause malfunctions and lessen the life of critical components, maintenance of the cooling system of your PC is very important. Even if you don’t hear any unusual sounds, dust buildup inside your PC can cause early failure of fans and blockage of the critical air flow that draws heat away from sensitive components. Dust buildup on motherboards can also cause short circuiting of components and early failure. All computers are prone to collect dust inside the chassis as they draw cool air in from the front of the PC and exhaust warmer air out the back. Computers located in carpeted areas will collect dust more rapidly than those located in rooms that are not carpeted.
Hard Drives
Be alert to clicking or clunking noises. These sounds are generally related to the computer’s hard drive and may indicate a warning that the hard drive is defective and failing. Best advice is to have the hard drive diagnosed immediately and make sure you back up your important files on a regular basis because if the hard drive dies suddenly it can be difficult and costly to have that data professionally retrieved.
Slow Computer
One of those most common problems that brings a computer in for repair is speed. Even a PC with the latest and fasted processors and loads of RAM can be brought down to a snails pace by various software and hardware problems that can be difficult for most people to diagnose themselves. These problems can be related to virus/spyware infections, file system problems, operating system problems, buggy software or drivers or even hardware failures. To be sure if your computer is running slow, have it diagnosed right away because the problem will not likely go away by itself and may generally get even worse leading to a more expensive repair.
To Err Is Not Good
If you are routinely experiencing error messages when working on your computer including the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) on Windows systems it could indicate a number of possible causes including software problems, hardware driver problems, file system errors, virus infections or even an imminent hardware failure. Like other common computer problems it will not likely fix itself. Get the problem professional diagnosed and fixed before the problem gets worse. |
